COVID-19 Safety Precautions

The safety of the UBC community is our top priority. Please review the measures we're taking to keeping our customers safe:

Course Materials

Students are encouraged to order their course materials ONLINE and to pick them up at our dedicated online order desk at the front of the store. This will help save you time and reduce the number of customers in the store.   Students intending to shop in-store will be required to print out their booklist, either at home or in-store, and provide it to a member of our textbook team, who will collect and hand your materials for you.

Cleanliness and Safety Precautions
The UBC Bookstore has installed additional hand sanitizes throughout the store, including the entrance and exit to the store. Further, there will be enhanced cleaning of all surface areas.
Changes to Policy to enhance customer safety
For public safety, staff will be asking customers to not handle products without first using the available hand sanitizer provided, to minimize touching products when possible, and to not place personal bags on surface areas. Further, until further notice, all change rooms and washrooms will be closed. The store will allow a maximum of 40 customers in, which may cause longer waits to enter the store. We have also temporarily removed the demo games table until further notice. Lastly, the upper mezzanine social space will be closed to the public.

For those wanting more information, we've made our Safety Plans for the Bookstore and Corner Store available to the public.
